vitalGaming Proud to Announce Its First League Of Legend's Team

With a new year comes more change for vitalGaming. As we start to see new and old gamers returning with a few fresh faces within the management, we're hope 2012 will be as good for vital as the last. Whilst things have been quiet here since before the winter, we have always maintained an interest in the League of Legend's scene after seeing members from almost every team try their luck at this action RTS which has now become one of the most talked about titles within the eSport Community.

As League of Legends continues to grow now boasting over 13 Million users, vitalGaming has decided it's time to pick up an official team. And what a team it is. Featuring a full Finnish line-up, the Ex-Premade players are currently ranked Number 1 on the ESL East and Nordic Ladder and have high hopes for the future.

The Line-Up Consists of:

Olli-Pekka 'Ozuri' Kinnunen - Jungle
Ville-Veikko 'Mora' Koskinen - Support
Olli 'Ollimus' Hirvonen - AD Carry
Antti 'ƒunky' Leino - Middle
Petrus 'Brutopatia' Artimo - Solotop

Statement from Ozuri:

'Since all the team has played League of Legends since the very beginning we are all pleased to be stepping up a level and to be part of vitalGaming. As we are still growing and learning as a team, we believe the framework and support which vitalGaming provides can help us achieve our goals of being top League of legends team within Finland.'

As always we'd like to wish the team the best of luck for their upcoming matches and look forward to working with them in the future.

Vital Gaming Make Changes

Vital Gaming Make Changes
CoD4, Vital Gaming, qure, pronic, Almost, pomze
Only one month on since the previously named Team Green announced their partnership with Vital Gaming and internal changes have already been announced, seeing two members departing from the place they once called home.

The fledgling team of Vital Gaming have today announced roster changes seeing the removal of the two long standing team members. The team stated that the main driving factor behind the decision was ever dwindling activity, seeing the team struggling to keep up with recent tournament demands. After much thought and deliberation a regretful decision had to be made, seeing the removal of two highly talented players, Tinus "qure" van de Velde and Jurian "pronic" van Straaten.

Taking their place will be ex-Rewind player Marcus "pomze" Jalmberger and Sami "Almost" Kojootti, which could seem to be an unlikely choice considering their different nationalities. Both players, although not quite at the top of the scene both have a multitude of experience both online and offline which hopefully we will see being applied over the up-coming months.

The remaining three players attended E-Series Maximus last December and had a relatively disappointing result only winning one game, although to their credit they were only three weeks old at the time. The team plan on developing themselves further for the 2012 summer season where we will see them in attendance across Europe, however until then they will not be available due to previously agreed work commitments. Until their summer debut they will be seen competing in the CyberGamer Amateur League, the Sapphire Challenge and hopefully any other competitions that come their way.

Sami "Almost" Kojootti
Marcus "pomze" Jalmberger
Tobias "anZium" Gustafsson
Tim "phAAi" Lormén
Felix "felix" Herlan

Tim "phAAi" Lormén gave the following statement to TEK9:
"Hello everyone. After the loss of pronic and qure we can finally say we found our 2 men. After a 2 month search we found pomze and Almost, two players which will help us to do the next step forward.

Due to work commitments we wont be able to go lan before june so we hope some events will be anounced for that time. Thanks to qure and pronic and to our sponsors Immortal Servers, Rocketblast, Sein Computers and 540hosting.com for their support."

Antwerp Aces Get Mean

Antwerp Aces, the best Benelux team currently inhabiting the Call of Duty 4 scene, has today announced a change to their roster, seeing long time standing team member Richard "Haxion" Robberse leaving the team.

With the promising side racking up reasonable results in the majority of the online competitions to date the last thing the scene expected to see was for changes to be implemented during this festive period, but that is exactly what the team has decided to do seeing Richard "Haxion" Robberse being exchanged after disputes fell out over his AK role within the team. Less than twenty four hours after his departure a new team member stepped up, seeing none other than Robert "mean" Kouters settle into place.

The addition of a new member after such a short period does appear to be, at least on the surface, a rushed decision. But if you dig a little deeper that isn't quite the case. Rober "mean" Kouters hasn't just walked in off the street and into the loving embrace of the AA family, he in fact has several ties with several of the team members, with one being particularly potent. He is in-fact an ex-teammate of Jelle "pr0phecy" Monen, serving alongside him within the ranks of TLR all the way back in 2009, and have since then have kept in touch regularly competing together.

The team has in the past achieved some promising results, including but limited to a first place finish at the E-Series LAN event, a 5th-8th finish at the E-Series Maximus LAN event last December and fourth place finish in the Cybergamer Invite League after narrowing losing out on third after a disappointing draw against Fragmasters. The newly reformed team now plan on attending Frag-O-Matic in February, quickly followed by DockYard in April, although both attendances are still to be confirmed.

Robert ''mean'' Kouters
Robby ''pazazu'' Kraai
Jelle "pr0phecy" Monen
Senne ''sEnzaj<3" Michoel
Abdelhafid “Vato” Bouddount

Abdelhafid “Vato” Bouddount gave TEK9 the following statement:

"Recently we have decided to replace Richard with Robert. While this has been a very hard decision for the team it is a decision we feel we had to make to keep the team motivated to keep growing. Don't get me wrong, with Richard we had a great time and I must say he is one of the best AK's in the Benelux scene. The problem we had was that we had 2 aggressive AK's in the team. Both Jelle (Prophecy) and Richard are AK's that want to push hard and get those picks and when Richard had to do the keen jobs (plant bombs, camp bombsites, hold the back, etc.) he was not very happy in the team. Even though he did is job very good, if someone isn't happy in the team, it shows.

After long discussions with Richard with decided it would be better to end his story with Aces and to look for another AK which was an easy decision. Robert (mean) has been playing before with half the line-up and is more of the keen AK so we think (hope) that this will do us good in the long run. I want to end this statement by wishing Richard the best of luck and I'm sure that he will find another great team in no time! Welcome Robert!"

Reason Gaming Make a Return

In what many would call an unexpected turn of events, the former Call of Duty titans Reason Gaming have stepped back into the scene. The organization was last seen with their 2010 team who disbanded after their successful 2nd place finish at CIC7.

Reason Gaming is an organization that is well known to a large percentage of the community, if not all of it's inhabitants, so who would have guessed that this previously all-star organization would pick up a lower end UK team for their return to the scene? Well despite previous pre-conceptions that's exactly what they've done, taking in the previously known British side of Saevis who recently took at 7th/8th position at last Novembers Insomnia44 with just three of their core members. What motivated them to make their decision? It may have something to do with Kyle "smiffy" Smith's connections within the organization, but Javier "FDZ" Fernandez, a member of staff for the Reason organization had the following to say:

"Long gone are the golden years for Call Of Duty 4, with a plethora of LAN events to choose from, as well as an outstanding list of teams to choose from. But, as a Phoenix, the CoD 4 scene is slowly but surely rising back again, and we at Reason-Gaming have decided to give back to a community that has given us so many happy moments."

Then went on to state:

"Rather than picking up a Top European team as we have done in the past, we have decided to pick up a UK academy team in order to show our support to the community that we know and love."

All was not well within the team though. Just days after the team’s acceptance into the prestigious Reason Gaming organization Joss "CAS" Payne was given an ultimatum, to either fall into the back-up position or to find himself removed from the side. The motives behind this decision seem sketchy, especially considering the fact that he had been an crucial part of the roster for over four months, but from what both sides have told me it would appear that the two parties were no longer compatible. What the future holds for this talented individual nobody can determine, but he has left the team with his head held high, still wishing his former comrades "good luck in the future".

We can expect to see Reason Gaming making their debut at Epic.EIGHT this up-coming February followed swiftly by Insomnia45 soon after. What does the future hold for this team within the embrace of Reason, I doubt anyone really has a solid answer, but one thing is for sure they've got a much brighter future within their new found home.
Dan "rapid" Shakeshaft

Craig "SNWZ3Y" Snowdon gave TEK9 the following statement:

"The team has been together over the summer months and after a somewhat successful i43 with only 3 of our core lineup in attendance, all of our players where focused on the road ahead we began working on taking our team to the next level. A team that hasn't really made a name for itself is honoured to represent such an established organisation such as Reason, especially with the high expectations like our own. Personally I would just like to thank both Reason, Razer, Verygames and Gamers Uniform for giving us this golden opportunity."
The team recently played in the E-Series Maximus but couldn't get past the group phase, but since it was their first Lan with the team they did a pretty good job making it hard on some of the great teams.

The Battlefield 3 competitive scene sees more community support with another prize cup from EsportsFineness.com supported by Alienware Hungary.

For all the Battlefield 3 players who prefer smaller team sizes, this is for you. Alienware Hungary have provided something to sink your teeth into over the winter months with a 4v4 Squad Rush Tournament with prizes including an Alienware MX18 Laptop and free tickets to Dockyard LAN in Hungary, due in April 2012.

The tournament format initially follows a Ladder style, and the top 16 teams after the ladder is completed are entered into a Playoff Cup to compete for the winning prize.
This is in addition to the two cash prize cups already announced from Alienware and GIGABYTE over the winter months.

All the information you need is below:-

Alienware Hungary BF3 Event

Signup closes: 15/12/11
Ladder Begins: 15/12/11

Remember, there’s also ongoing tournaments from ESL and 4PL to keep BF3 teams busy and helping new teams find their feet.

Next, EA will release the Back To Karkand expension pack, containing four classic Battlefield maps including Strike at Karkand. Anyone who's every dabbled in Battlefield will know this map and I'd be surprised if watching this classic map fall apart in Destruction 2.0 isn't enough to get even the most casual of gamers to get stuck into BF3.

The competitive scene surrounding Battlefield, as always, is vocal about support for competitive features and due to plenty of positive murmurings about spectator mode and demo recording being worked on, we can see some rather well-known organisations throwing some money at the online scene in anticipation of competitive features. Two cash prize cups are keeping BF3 competitive players busy over the winter months:

In a few weeks time, EA will release the Back To Karkand expension pack, containing four classic Battlefield maps including Strike at Karkand, which is sure to bring many of those unsure about BF3 into the game.

Competitive BF3 will never survive until Spectator Mode and Demo Recording is introduced - it's going to be interesting to see the contents of the next few patches due in the next couple of months.
